ANKARA (Sputnik) – The Group of 20 (G20) finance ministers and central bank governors vowed on Saturday to stem financial flows of terrorist organizations, according to their final communique.
"The fight against terrorism is a major priority for all of our countries and thus, we reiterate our resolve to tackle its financing channels. We reaffirm our commitment to deepen our cooperation concerning the exchange of information and freezing of assets," ministers said in the final communique.
In particular, they pledged to speed up the review of cross-border freezing requests and promote transparency of financial flows.
Finance ministers and central bankers from the G20 club of major global economies were meeting in Ankara, Turkey from September 4 to 5.
