The heads of the drug enforcement agencies of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia and Tajikistan will meet on Friday in the Tajik capital Dushanbe to discuss anti-drug efforts in Central Asia, Russia’s Federal Drug Control Service reported.

“The agenda includes issues relating to the fight against the drug threat in the Central Asian region. The meeting participants plan to approve an anti-drug roadmap of cooperation for 2012-2017,” the service reported.

The Russian side will be represented by the service’s head Viktor Ivanov.

During the visit to Tajikistan, Ivanov will also meet with the country’s President Emomali Rakhmon.

This meeting of the "anti-drug quartet" will be the third since 2010. The first meeting that worked out the mechanism for the four countries’ joint activities and resulted in the signing of a joint statement was held in December 2010; the second meeting took place in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2011.
