Some 50 firefighting engines and four Egyptian Air Force planes are battling a fire at an oil company in the city of Suez, country’s MENA news agency said on Sunday.

The fire broke out after a blast hit the Nasr Petroleum company at approximately 6:00 p.m. local time on Saturday (16:00 GMT) setting ablaze tanks containing oil products.

The agency said referring to the Egyptian Health Ministry that one man was killed and 18 injured in the fire. Xinhua news agency reported citing its sources that four people were killed and 22 injured.

Nasr Petroleum accounts for over 30 percent of petroleum production in Egypt and the fire may worsen the situation with the fuel consumption in the country.
