Russian Premier League top-scorer Yura Movsisyan has no intention of leaving his current team FC Krasnodar for a bigger club, he has said.

Former MLS player Movsisyan has struck nine times in 11 games this season, more than all his teammates combined, and became the first winner of the league’s new player of the month award last week.

Reports have linked the forward with leading Russian clubs, although concrete interest has yet to emerge.

“All my future is linked only with this team,” Movsisyan said Saturday.

“When you score a lot of goals, obviously these conversations crop up that big clubs are interested in you. It’s all rumors, I’m relaxed about them and I’m not paying them any more attention.”

Krasnodar coach Slavoljub Muslin said last month the club “will do anything to retain” Movsisyan, whose contract runs until the end of the next season.

Movsisyan, 25, lived in California from the age of 10 and started his career with the Kansas City Wizards before a move to Real Salt Lake, where he won the MLS Cup.

Krasnodar signed him from Danish side Randers last year for €2.5 million.

He has scored five times in his 17 appearances for the Armenian national team.

Movsisyan is joined at the top of the Russian Premier League scoring charts by Alania Vladikavkaz’s Brazilian striker Danilo Neco, who took his tally to nine with a brace against Krylya Sovetov on Saturday.
