Spartak Moscow defender Nicolas Pareja has returned to action after a month out with a calf injury, the club said Monday.
The Argentina international missed four league games, as well as Spartak’s 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“The Spartak players had a training session at Tarasovka today. Encouragingly, Nicolas Pareja returned to the main group,” Spartak said in a website statement.
The announcement came on the same day as Spartak revealed midfielder Romulo could miss the rest of the season with a ruptured cruciate ligament.
Additionally, defender Jose Manuel Jurado hurt his hamstring in Spartak’s 3-1 win over FC Rostov on Saturday.
After the match, coach Unai Emery said Jurado could be out for three weeks. Spartak said he would undergo a medical examination Tuesday.
Midfielders Kirill Kombarov and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov are both set to return to full training Tuesday after minor injuries, the club said.
