WBC heavyweight world champion Vitali Klitschko and his undefeated German challenger Manuel Charr squared up to each other at Friday's weigh-in ahead of their title fight in Moscow on Saturday.

Klitschko weighed in at 112.5 kilograms, with Charr a shade lighter at 109.5 kilograms.

The two came nose-to nose before Charr was pulled away by his entourage, but otherwise the ceremony passed largely without incident. It was a change from Klitschko's last fight, when he and Dereck Chisora clashed at the weigh-in, the British challenger slapping Klitschko's face.

"I'm feeling confident in myself," Klitschko said, adding that he felt he had gained a better appreciation of Charr by staring him down.

"The eyes are a mirror of the soul," he said.

Charr said: "This fight, I hope, is a fight for the freedom of the world," declining to elaborate on his claim.

"You will tomorrow see the best fight you have seen in the world."

Klitschko's brother Wladimir, holder of the WBF, WBA and IBF titles, said that Charr's temperament explained the largely peaceful weigh-in.

"He's more relaxed," Wladimir Klitschko said.

"He's very motivated," he added. "This is his dream."

The fight will take place at Moscow's Olympiisky Sports Complex.
