Russian athletes won four gold and two silver medals on the penultimate day of the European Swimming Championships currently underway in Budapest, Hungary.

MOSCOW, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russian athletes won four gold and two silver medals on the penultimate day of the European Swimming Championships currently underway in Budapest, Hungary.

Nadezda Bazhina scored 324.1 points and won the 3m Springboard Women event on Saturday. Another Russian, Anastasia Pozdnyakova was second with 316.4 points. Hungary's Nora Barta took the bronze with 291.75 points.

Team Russia of Nikita Lobintsev, Daniil Izotov, Sergey Perunin and Alexander Sukhorukov won

Men's 4x200m relay freestyle, establishing the new European record of seven minutes and 6.71 seconds.

Team Germany came in second with 7 minutes 8.13 seconds, France was third with the result of 7 minutes 9.7 seconds.

Stanislav Donets won Men's 200m Backstroke event with the result of 1 minute 57.18 seconds, 0.13 seconds ahead of his main rival, Austria's Markus Rogan. Benjamin Stasiulis of France was third, with the result of 1 minute 57.37 seconds.

Evgeny Korotyshkin won the gold in Men's 100m Butterfly, establishing the new European Championships record of 51.73 seconds. Joeri Verlinden of The Netherlands was second, Poland's Konrad Czerniak took the bronze. Russia's Nikolay Skvortsov, who also made it into the final, finished fifth.

The Russian duo of Minibaev Victor and Zakharov Ilya scored 466.95 points and claimed silver in Men's 10m Synchro Platform.

Germany's Sascha Klein and Patrick Hausding won the event. Belarus's Timofei Hordeichik and

Vadim Kaptur took the bronze.
