MAHAJAN (India), October 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said Sunday that the joint counterterrorism exercise just held in the northwestern Indian state of Rajasthan had been useful to both sides as the military and security forces of Russia and India had a lot of expertise to share with each other.
Speaking to reporters after the exercise, Ivanov said Russia and India had begun fighting transnational terrorism long before the notion became part of mainstream political discourse.
He said the two countries were playing a proactive part in global efforts to create a rigorous regulatory framework for fighting transnational terrorism and state sponsorship of its perpetrators.
