Foreign Ministers of Italy, Germany, France Sign Document on Migrant Crisis
21:06 GMT 02.09.2015 (Updated: 17:05 GMT 22.07.2023) Italian, German and French foreign ministers have signed a document urging to give "a strong European response" to the migrant crisis, the Italian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
ROME, (Sputnik) — According to the ministry, Paolo Gentiloni, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Laurent Fabius stressed the necessity of fair distribution of refugees between the EU member-countries.

The document contains specific recommendations on reconsidering the current EU asylum policy, which were developed 25 years ago.
The signed document was sent to EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini with a request to discuss it on the upcoming EU foreign ministers meeting that will take place in Luxembourg on September 4 and 5.
The European Union is trying to withstand a massive crisis with hundreds of thousands undocumented migrants attempting to cross into the bloc fleeing violence and poverty in their home countries.
