BUDAPEST (Sputnik) Hungary does not plan to send any more buses with refugees toward the Austrian border, Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said Saturday.

"There was a crisis situation yesterday, a real chaos. In this situation, the government resorted to an emergency measure and provided buses. But we think it was a one-off occurrence, and there will be no more buses," Kovacs said.

The Austrian Interior Ministry estimated that around 4,500 migrants were transferred to its border overnight, after Austrian and German governments agreed to take in excess refugees from Hungary, according to Kronen Zeitung newspaper.

The decision to dispatch some 90 buses to pick up refugees stranded at Budapest’s central train station Keleti and along the Austria-bound highway was taken after a thousand of desperate migrants set out toward Austria on foot.
