Seoul, Pyongyang Holding First Talks on Kaesong Joint Complex Since 2014
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia, South and North Korea may implement trilateral projects together, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov said Sunday.

"I am convinced that the trilateral projects are realistic," Morgulov told Yonhap news agency in an interview.

He cited the Moscow-Pyongyang railway project Rajin-Khasan and the Kaesong industrial park developed jointly by Seoul and Pyongyang, despite recurring escalations in the relations, as successful projects that could be transformed into trilateral format.

The only obstacle to cooperation in such a format is tensions on the Korean peninsula, Morgulov added.

A source in the South Korean government said in August that Seoul was ready to negotiate trilateral projects with Moscow and Pyongyang.
