The two key sessions planned for Saturday will look at the role of the Russian regions in attracting investors and the protection of the rights and interests of foreign investors in the country.

The third day will also feature two country dialogues: Russia-China and Russia-Korea. These discussions will focus on ways to ensure sustainable growth in trade and economic cooperation between the countries, including investments and joint projects both in Russia as well as in China and Korea.

Among the most prominent speakers at these events will be nine governors of regions in Russia’s Far East: from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to the Sakhalin Region. The governor of China’s Heilongjiang Province Lu Hao is also expected to deliver a speech.

The previous two days of the EEF were very busy, with dozens of contracts signed between Russian and international companies, federal government agencies and the governments of several Russian regions. On the second day of the event, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech at the official opening ceremony, attended by hundreds of delegates.

On Friday, Russian Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev said that participants in the EEF had signed some 65 deals worth more than 1.2 trillion rubles ($17.7 billion) in the first two days.

The forum brings together business and government representatives along with industry experts from Russia and Asia-Pacific countries to discuss the economic potential of Russia's Far East and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as cooperation and investment opportunities.

Interest in the event turned out to be very high, with 4,000 applications submitted despite original expectations of only 1,000 participants.
