Ivanka Trump seems to be following the beaten trail of her father, US President Donald Trump, who has faced similar accusations of allegedly covering the extent of his personal debts on his financial disclosure form back in 2016 during the election campaign.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner are facing a lawsuit in line with the US Ethics in Government Act, Politico reported.

Health care finance lawyer Jeffrey Lovitky, who also files civil rights cases, contended that Trump and Kushner have allegedly failed to disclose assets owned by 30 investment funds the two had stakes in and didn't declare the income they had received from two investment vehicles.

"The [Ethics in Government Act] does not allow a reporting individual to refuse to disclose the underlying assets of an investment vehicle, on the basis that such disclosure would violate a pre-existing confidentiality agreement. Nor does the EIGA allow a reporting individual to refuse to disclose the amount of income derived from any underlying asset of an investment vehicle, on the basis that such disclosure would violate a pre-existing confidentiality agreement," the suit contends.

The lawsuit was filed after Kushner's disclosure form revealed in March that the couple remained beneficiaries of a real estate business empire worth up to $740 million whilst holding senior positions in the White House, despite the fact that they had updated the information several times since then, following complaints about the incomplete disclosure of their financial assets.

A similar lawsuit was filed by Lovitky against US President Donald Trump in March, claiming that he has failed to uncover the extent of his personal debts during the 2016 presidential election campaign. The suit, however, is still pending.
