The Russian Pacific Fleet’s anti-submarine aviation held drills in the Russian Far East region of Kamchatka training the search and tracking of maneuver enemy’s vessels, a spokesman for the Pacific Fleet Vladimir Matveev said on Wednesday.

VLADIVOSTOK (Russia) (Sputnik) – The drills were held both in the daytime and at night as well as under various weather conditions.

“In Kamchatka pilots of the Pacific Fleet’s marine aviation trained search and tracking of a unit of maneuver enemy’s vessels,” Matveev said.

Six Il-38 (NATO reporting name: May) anti-submarine jets took part in the drills. According to airbase commander Gennady Mironenko, the pilots successfully coped with the set tasks as the unit of maneuver enemy’s vessels was found and the relevant information was sent to other jets and ships.
