Authorities in Ukraine, along with the United Nations and the World Bank, have jointly established Multi-Partner Trust Funds, a mechanism intended to boost the country’s economic recovery, according to a release from the Bank.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The platform will be used to support development and reconstruction in Ukraine, which has been suffering from disruptions in industry and widespread job losses amid ongoing conflict, according to the World Bank.

"The international partners are ready to support the efforts of the government of Ukraine on recovery of the infrastructure and peacebuilding, tailored to the specific needs of conflict-affected communities," the release on Friday stated.

Programs through the new funds “will help to restore damaged infrastructure and provide services for people, support small enterprise recovery, basic financial services and create job opportunities,” the release concluded.

The Ukrainian economy has deteriorated since an armed conflict between government forces and militias in the country's southeast escalated in April 2014.
