Over 40 Killed, Dozens Injured During Clashes in Yemeni Province

Some 46 people were killed and dozens injured during clashes between the Houthi rebels and government forces in the Dhamar governorate located to the south of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, a source told Sputnik on Sunday.

SANAA (Sputnik) – According to the source, local tribal chiefs make efforts to stop the violence mediating between the sides, but the fighting continues.

“This considerable number of the casualties was reached in the past 24 hours, when the Houthis tried to capture the area near the strategically important Halfan Mountain in the middle of the Utmah district, in eastern Dhamar, and this attempt was successful,” the source said.
