KHABAROVSK (Sputnik) – According to the ministry, the Mi-8 transport aircraft with 13 passengers and three crew members on board crashed into the Ongochan Bay of the Sea of Okhotsk on Saturday afternoon.
“According to the latest data, 11 people survived the helicopter crash. All of them are in the satisfactory condition,” the representative of the Far East Rescue Center of Russian Emergencies Ministry told RIA Novosti, adding that a rescue operation is under way.
A representative of Russia's aviation agency Rosaviation confirmed this reformation to RIA Novosti, saying that the pilot of the crashed helicopter told rescuers that five people had died in the crash.
