MOSCOW, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry sent rescuers to help earthquake-hit Pakistan Sunday.An Il-76 aircraft with 30 rescuers and equipment onboard flew to Islamabad Sunday afternoon."The rescuers have all the necessary equipment to work in earthquake-hit areas for two weeks," a ministry spokesman said.
The ministry also considers sending humanitarian aid to Pakistan, the spokesman added.
A UN special group including a representative of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry will fly to Islamabad to coordinate the work of rescuers.
The 8-magnitude quake that struck Pakistan Saturday and was felt in India and Afghanistan left 30,000 killed.
